Arte virtuosa

O trabalho de Maria mimetiza em fios de linha e tinta os emaranhados internos - seus e nossos. Regido pela imersão no lago do seu inconsciente, as formas e cenas representadas em seus bordados e pinturas reerguem o ambiente onírico sobreposto aos vestígios materiais e nos conduzem.

Circunscrevendo de forma auto referencial assuntos como o feminino selvagem, sexualidade, energia e identidade, Maria mescla-se com suas várias facetas, luzes e sombras, promovendo um panorama da psiqué, em recortes. A cabeça dentro dos espaços, a cabeça como espaço, e o corpo como objeto infinitivo de observação e inspiração, a partir do físico e do invisível.

Maria's work mimics, in threads of yarn and paint, the inner tangles - hers and ours. Guided by an immersion in the lake of her unconscious, the forms and scenes depicted in her embroidery and paintings rebuild the dreamlike environment layered over material traces, and lead us in.

Circumscribing in a self-referential way subjects such as the wild feminine, sexuality, energy and identity, Maria merges with her many facets, lights and shadows, offering a panorama of the psyche, in fragments. The head within spaces, the head as space, and the body as an infinite object of observation and inspiration, from the physical and the invisible.
